Sentiment autograph, "Yrs truly, Mark Twain." Stunningly framed in redwood burl using the finest archival materials, with gold fillets and hand-marbled Italian paper framing each of four elements: two images of Twain in youth and old age, the signature itself, and an identifying plaque. A cream linen fabric is laid over the matting to finish the presentation.

MARK TWAIN (1835-1910), the pen name used by Samuel Langhorne Clemens, was an American author and humorist. Twain is most noted for his novels Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, which has since been called the Great American Novel, and The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. During his lifetime, Twain became a friend to presidents, artists, industrialists and European royalty.

Twain enjoyed immense public popularity, and his keen wit and incisive satire earned him praise from both critics and peers. American author William Faulkner called Twain "the father of American literature."
