Gary Cooper
Signed Photo from High Noon - 1961
Signed black and white vintage photograph inscribed to Dr. George Saviers, personal physician to and confidant of Ernest Hemingway, who introduced Cooper and Saviers in Sun Valley, Idaho. The three men often went fishing together. Cooper inscribed the photo to Saviers: “For Geo. Saviers / With lots of good wishes / Your friend / Gary Cooper / Hollywood 1961.” In very good condition with some light uniform toning. Affixed to 11″ x 14″ mat backing.
This studio still, signed the year both Gary Cooper and Ernest Hemingway died—21 years after they met—is from Cooper’s 1952 western film High Noon. Excellent association. Provenance from the Estate of Dr. George Saviers.
