Intimate message on personalized note paper handwritten by Truman Capote, most likely addressed to his friend Alan Schwartz, executor of the Capote Trust. Paper torn at midsection through the word “love,” probably above his original missing signature, with a small circular stain to left. In full: “For Alan, who is very special to me / please look after my / dear little friend Joanne.” Also includes a blank page from Capote’s personalized notepad. Provenance from the Estate of Joanne Carson (former wife of Tonight Show host Johnny Carson) who is mentioned in the note.
